Fall is in the Air, North Texas

fall in north texas

Fall is in the air, North Texas! It’s time to put away those shorts and swim suits and bust out the jackets, sweaters and flannel sheets. OK, well maybe that’s taking it just a step too far since for those of us who have been here for a few years know that there is a time every winter when you just have to flip on the air conditioner for just a second. In any event you can still feel the crispness in the air and with that let’s talk about some fun things to do around here these days.

State Fair of Texas

What better weekend to go than Texas/OU weekend. Don’t miss the annual Red River Rivalry and while you are there be sure to load up on everything fried as well as check out some of the local exhibits. We are also excited to learn that the Chinese Lantern Festival has returned to the Fair. It opened on September 27th and will remain open until December 8th so don’t miss it!

The Vineyards Campground

Looking for something to do in Grapevine with the kids? Check out this nationally acclaimed campground. It’s known for its peaceful setting, lakefront views and accommodating staff. Plus with Halloween just around the corner they have great events planned which shouldn’t be missed.

Widowmaker Trail Rides

Ride off into the sunset just like a true Texan. They are located about 10 minutes west of DFW airport and their 2 hour horseback ride will take you around scenic Lake Grapevine. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with the family or maybe just as a romantic get away with your significant other.

Dallas Farmers Market

Let your kids pick out their own pumpkin this year at the Downtown Dallas Farmers Market. Every kid in Dallas should experience the magic of this pumpkin harvest. While you are there look around because with all of the great booths and local venders you never know what you might find since it’s one of the largest public markets of its kind in the country.

Top Golf

Located in the midcities area of Dallas, this great place takes the average driving range to the next level. They supply everything. All you have to do is show up and get ready for a fun day. It’s great for kids, groups and parties. They also have a full bar to celebrate in after a couple of rounds. Open late on Friday and Saturdays!

Clearly these are just a few things to do around the Dallas and Fort Worth area. With the holiday season upon us look for news about the Downtown Dallas Christmas parade and the upcoming events at the Dallas Arboretum.

Got an idea of something fun to do? Please let us know as we are always looking for new events to share with potential new home buyers.
